Back in the beginning of last season, 2011 Bowman was absolutely scorching in the way people were chasing it. Bryce Harper was the crown jewel, and until now I have wondered when the best card of his would surface. The 1/1 Superfractor was in hiding for a long time, but it has finally been posted on eBay with a BIN similar to what the Strasburg super went for originally. Its graded BGS 9.5, natch.
2011 Bowman BCP1 Bryce Harper Superfractor 1/1
Aside from the fact that the card would, of course, get a gem grade, its interesting that it took close to a year for the card to surface. I think its going to be interesting to see how much it goes for, as Topps would definitely like it to gain the same type of national media attention it did when Strasburg sold for a record price.
Harper now has a higher ceiling than Stras, especially until the Tommy John takes its full course and the fireballs come back. Considering that Harper is going to start in triple A ball, at least until he starts mashing like he did last year, it may have been better to wait to list until he gets the call up.
This is the card to have for the prospect with the biggest hype in a long time. The USA superfractor has already sold for $16,000+ at one point, this one may eventually reach that.
