Over the last few years, I have very much liked the direction Topps Supreme has gone, becoming more of a mirror to the high end packouts that are starting to be the norm. The singles content is one of the best of the late year, and this year’s set has already been previewed to have some VERY nice chase cards.
Some of them have started to show up on ebay already, with the product going live tomorrow. With each card posted, I am more and more intrigued to see what Supreme has up its sleeve this year:
2012 Topps Supreme Aaron Rodgers Brett Favre Dual Auto
2012 Topps Supreme Tony Romo / Robert Griffin III Dual Auto
2012 Topps Supreme Joe Montana Patch Auto 1/1
2012 Topps Supreme Justin Blackmon Six Piece Auto Jersey Book
2012 Topps Supreme Patrick Willis / Vernon Davis Dual Auto
2012 Topps Supreme Trent Richardson Auto Jersey /51 – I am really liking this design.
2012 Topps Supreme Kendall Wright Dual Patch Auto /5
2012 Topps Supreme Alfred Morris RC /75
2012 Topps Supreme Coby Fleener Jumbo Jersey Die Cut – Rough to get a card like this out of an 80 dollar pack, but it looks GOOD.
I will not deny that this is one of those products that you have to bust a few boxes of. In each case, 25% of the hits will not be autos, which means you have a one in four shot at pulling a jersey card in your high end break. If you bust a few boxes, the odds of that happening are significantly lower. However, it is unfortunate that this is the case, but I think that when you hit it big, you REALLY get a nice card.
Topps previewed booklets and some of the higher end cards today, and I sincerely hope there are a few Vikings I can get. I love this year’s ornate foil design, as it does look like a higher end release. The only drawback to the design is that we still have to wait for Five Star to get on card autos for the vets, and all the rookies are stickers as well.
This is one of the first veteran heavy products of the year for Topps, and I think there are a lot of collectors waiting for it. I hope it turns out as well as it has in previous years.
Funny Topps keeps using old Jaguars jerseys from before Justin Blackmon was in high school.
Alas, you have just found out why event used relics are so hard to accept.
