2010 Contenders Break – Sponsored By Atlanta Sports Cards

Got a great price on two 2010 Contenders Boxes from Josh over at Atlanta Sports Cards, and much like the three boxes we got in the Plates and Patches group break, these two also yielded a top auto. Because this is one of the hottest products on the market, it was tough to pass up the rush of breaking it, and it is definitely a rush to pull the card that I did.

Although I hate the foil on the auto cards over the base white stock, I still think the overall design is pretty awesome. Panini HAD a big design win on their hands if they had gone  with the plain white like they did for the base cards, and yet, they chose the foil. Again. Seeing these cards in person, the foil is even worse, with two of my autos not being in pack fresh condition because blemishes on the foil are so noticeable. Luckily my big hit is amazing, so it could have been A LOT worse.

In my first box I pulled 5 autos:

Golden Tate (my second one and fourth auto of his this year – ugh)

Marcus Easley (my fourth auto of his this year too, double ugh)

NaVorro Bowman

Everson “DUI” Griffen

and Jason Pierre-Paul

The second box was considerably better:

Damian Williams

Bryan Bulaga

Riley Cooper

Tony Moeaki

and

this beast:

This card has sold INCREDIBLY well on eBay because of the inscription of “GB2”, which supposedly means “God Bless and Go Broncos.” Check these out:

Completed Auction 1

Completed Auction 2

Completed Auction 3

Being the Tebow hater that I am, this is going swimming ASAP. Hopefully I can get even more cash for Five Star that goes live next week. A nice 350 dollar offer would be hard to pass up when I can buy cards of players that I actually like.

  1. sweet pull crazy that his cards are selling so well considering the fact that he played two games.

  2. I dumped mine (no insc.) within minutes of pulling it. I can buy it back in 2 years for $12.

  3. Definitely dump the Tebow. I always told myself this year that if I pulled a auto rookie of his, I would sell it immediately while it’s still hot. Well, I never pulled one, but I have sold every refractor card I’ve pulled of his and have slept well all the way to the bank!
