Believe it or not, the Bryce Harper 1/1 red parallel has been pulled and posted on eBay, all on the first day of release. I know a lot of people were quite skeptical of it until the scans were posted, but its all real now. The seller has it up for a crapload of money, but when you consider that the red Strasburg went for around 5K, maybe it wont be as much of a stretch.
2011 Bowman is really a unique situation, mainly because of how much of the print run is cracked by collectors upon release, however I dont think this was expected at all. We are still waiting on the Harper superfractor, but I think its safe to say that this is probably the second best card in the whole product. If you can recall, the Harper superfractor from 2010 Bowman sold for 14K, a staggering price that really didnt get the attention it should have because of what the Stras sold for. Its absolutely crazy that people will pay that much for a guy who hasnt taken a major league at bat, but im guessing it was bought by a person who has the money to spend.
More of the big hits are sure to pop up soon, but there is always a chance that we could end up with a situation like Evan Longoria and his 2006 Chrome Superfractor.
Nats GM said yesterday that Harper’s NOT coming up to the show this year. So the hype will stay hype until next year…
Saw that on hardball talk. Crazy that people dont factor that in.
atleast the card has free shipping.
$25K what a steal!
Funny how it’s already been graded by BGS despite just being pulled…
For that price you could by a nice Babe Ruth card or two…
What’s the point in buying this product if all the good cards are gone? Also, how did Beckett get this graded so fast and i’m surprised it was not a 10.
Not that i really want this to happen to the player, but i would love it if Strasburg and Harper turn into a Todd Van Poppel, Brien Taylor, JD Drew, or Rick Ankiel just so the people who bought these cards look back and say “what was I thinking”
very good points regarding how fast this card was graded and that you could buy a few Babe Ruth cards for that kind of money
What was the situation of Evan Longoria and his 2006 Chrome Superfractor?? I missed that event
Almost 5 years later and it still hasnt surfaced.
