A Look at the Snoozefest Known as 2011 Panini Timeless Treasures Football

From what has been previewed already for Timeless Treasures, I have been more than disgusted with what the set brings to the table. Its basically a clone of Limited with similarly poor card designs and lack of creativity. Even worse than most of what Panini is already doing, they are offering odd signed swatches of white leather that make no sense in a football set.

Now that we are also seeing some of the other cards and the basic designs, I see absolutely nothing that we havent seen time and time again from Panini. I am convinced that they just arent trying anymore, as their products have begun to blur together more than they usually do. Additionally, it seems as though they are dead set on including crap jersey card after crap jersey cards as part of the box content, something that has needed to be changed since 2003 at the latest.

Bottom line is that these cards not only look like they were designed by someone without any experience in the industry, but they are so boring that I need some no-doz just to make it through the preview. People often wonder why I hate Panini’s design and content as much as I do, but I stand by the obvious short comings in almost all of their products. More stickers, more junk jersey cards, more bush league design work. Even the themes of the subsets have tanked to the point that I have to laugh at some of the names they pick.

Overall, its obvious that Topps has already lapped Panini a minimum of two times this season already, as evidenced with each preview they release. Right now, they are looking more and more like that 8th place racer that cant quite keep up with the pack in MarioKart. Im looking at you Baby Luigi and your putt putt motorcycle…

Here is the damage:

  1. Par for the course. Fucking retards put the ‘Redskins’ jersey box under his Cowboys photo. Gotta love the colorblind design team work!
