Panini Tries to Blind Us With Shiny Things

After what we saw in the recent release bombs of Threads and Rookies and Stars, Panini has lost a lot of momentum that we saw could possibly be building with Limited, Certified, Crown Royale and Absolute all featuring some elements of on card autos. Of course, these are all later releases for Panini, and they have a lot more riding on them, but they also are showing that there are not much more to these sets OTHER than these hard signed cards. Outside of the rookies, it’s a barren wasteland of 2 dollar jersey cards that arent worth the price of a pack.

Funny how that works, isnt it? AT LEAST two of the hits in a single box usually wont cover the price of a PACK and yet Panini is plugging holes in their products left and right with this crap. Even the highest of the high end is loaded with shitty cards that carry no hobby value, and that is sad.

Regardless, we are getting preview after preview of the best of the best, trying to blind you from the fact that many of these products wont be worth the cardboard they are printed on. Yeah, these cards look great, but what of the rest?

  1. I don’t get how they still sell product despite their design being almost the same every single year. Are gone the days when design was one of the most important things in a card? Is it just now the nastiest “mojo”? It feels like I’ve seen these cards a thousand times. Very uninspired.

  2. I think panini’s releases from here on out are gonna be for the most part pretty nice. Looking forward to limited absolute gold standard and of course nt to round things off. For topps can’t wait for chrome and five star to hit shelves.
