Its clear that 2011 Bowman should have been called “2011 Bowman: Bryce Harper Edition,” there is no doubt about that. Unlike with Strasburg in 2010, there are a few more of his hard signed autos in the product, something that makes the parallels of the card that much more valuable. Also, he has a few MORE parallels of the card than Strasburg did, and the lowest of the Parallels – the /5 Red Version – has finally made its debut on eBay.
Its already past “crazy” and well into “ridiculous” in terms of the pricing, and there is STILL six days left in the auction. With the Strasburg super selling well over 20K initially, and what happened with him, this guy better be twice as productive as Pujols ever was for this kind of price.
Oddly enough, one of the 2010 Red Refractors is also listed at the same time, which something that shocks me a bit with two of the lower numbered cards from the two best sets being available at once. The price is ridiculous on the 2010 one, but it may just be to get it to the top of the list.
I have said recently that one would have to be certifiable to buy in at these prices, but it looks like there are a lot of people who think there is still money to be made.
I guess only time will tell.
Have people learned their lesson with strasburg, or mark prior yet? Apparently not. Harper is just another overhyped prospect whose auto cards will tank in a couple of years.
