Every year at the National Sports Collector Convention, the card companies all create a giveaway aimed at driving traffic to their booth and getting collectors to open their products at the show. For the last few years, there has been one undisputed king of the giveaways, and its not even close. Panini has found a way to drive constant traffic through their booth, in delivering redemption packs for anyone who is willing to brave the line.
Here are some of the better hits out of the packs:
Panini National Card Show Blake Griffin On Card Auto
Panini National Card Show Andrew Luck RC /499 BGS 9.5
Panini National Card Show Peyton Manning Auto Cracked Ice /5
Panini National Card Show Robert Griffin III Cracked Ice Team Colors Auto
The cards in the pack come from a wide range of sources, similar to their giveaways on Black Friday and Father’s day, but they are more exclusive for attendees of the show. If you have been a reader of this site for a while, you know I love a good giveaway, and this is one of the best there is. Unlike other giveaways which put suggested products on the list, this giveaway is open to relatively all current Panini products from 2013. All you have to do is buy some packs, open them at Panini’s booth, and you will get your pack.
Believe it or not, the cards arent even the focus, its the item redemptions that you can pull out of them. They include 1/1 player sketch cards, signed memorabilia, and all sorts of other fun prizes that Panini has collected over the year.
Check these out:
Panini National Card Show Andrew Luck Player Sketch Card 1/1
Panini National Card Show Colin Kaepernick Signed Premiere Worn Hat
Panini National Card Show Julio Jones Draft Day Auto 8×10
This year, the card set looks pretty standard, but as mentioned before, the focus is more on getting the rarer hits than these cards. Im a little curious as to some of the players included in the set (DeAndre Hopkins?), but maybe I am just missing an obvious connection.
Ill be in Chicago the whole week, and you can bet I will be getting a few for myself. Panini sometimes offers the packs through their website for people who cant make the show, so keep an eye out on their twitter to see if/when they become available.
