Upper Deck Gives Packout Preview of 2011 Exquisite NCAA

Exquisite is usually the best product of the year without competition. The completely hard signed autos coupled with the second-to-none design team at Upper Deck delivered year after year from 2005-2009 football. In fact, Exquisite was so well conceived, it was almost impossible to argue with many of the cards being worth the hundreds they usually called for on eBay.

This year, Upper Deck is going to the well again, only with Exquisite as the first ever super high end one pack NCAA product. Pack out is going down this weekend, and like last year, UD is tweeting live images. Although we are seeing the best of the best, I have to say that I am a big fan of the design work this year. I definitely think the RAPs are looking great, and I am EXTREMELY sad that UD doesnt have the NFL license this year to make up for Panini’s lack of chops in the design realm.

Here is what they have posted so far:

That Tebow is going to sell for an ass ton of money, as it is probably the most impressive Gator card ever created. Regardless of the swatch size, the inscriptions are well chosen. The Mathews is similarly cool, and the Thomas looks great. Will this product deliver value like it usually does? Probably not on the same level without pro uniforms. But, because of the lack of production run, who knows.

  1. The 1 of 1 Tebow inscriptions is absolutely amazing.

Great patch, great design, A+++ auto.

Ebay will go nuts over this card.

  2. Too bad Clausen had to sign on a black swatch in the tri-fold. The design is growing on me. The subtle color matching is a real nice touch. I also agree with you on that Tebow. With all the Gator fans, Tebow fans, and Jesus freaks already getting chubbed over anything Tebow that card is going to blow up should it ever see auction.

  3. Probably better stick with singles on this one. With this being the 1st UD product under their new dealer license agreement, the box prices will be insane since only hand-picked distributors will be able to sell it to the registered card shops…

I do love the Aikman UCLA stuff they’ve shown so far. I hope they save a few of the better singles for the meeting where they go back to the NFL after the collective bargaining agreement. I want there to be some big-ass, 9 hour long presentation by Panini about how they should retain their NFL license. Then, as hour 10 approaches and everybody wants to go home, some UD rep says ‘our turn’ and drops a pack of 2010 Exquisite on the table. Some NFL rep with an actual brain just says ‘get that other shit off my table, I can’t believe you killed trees for this filth,,,’

And just give UD back the NFL license so we can have awesome cards again. … yeah, something like that. 🙂

  4. I love these cards. I will definitely try to get a troy aikman auto from this years exquisite. I already have his 04 sp authentic sign of the times auto.

  5. Is it my imagination or is that Joe McKnight dinged in the bottom right and left corners?

  6. I really like that Oklahoma Card of Peterson/Bradford and Billy Sims……Futhermore I can’t wait to see what the Bradford 1/1 will look like

  7. x2 PLEASE GIVE UPPER DECK BACK IT’S LICENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!! GELLMAN LET’S START A PETITION!!!!!!
